seeds of tomorrow (2024)

I’ve said for years that I can’t draw.  What I mean is that I was never any good at realistic, naturalistic drawing.  But I do quite a lot of doodling using natural shapes.  During Lockdown, I collected some of these into two series of ‘Auntie Katie’s colouring books’, which I made for my nephews and niece.  Mostly these doodles are what fuel my lino-print work.  At the moment, as well as working on mini lino prints to incorporate into my bright-+/well project, I’m working on a 1 metre lino piece based on an Indian proverb, which is sitting on my kitchen table to remind me to get on with it!

And last year I discovered gelli printing, so I’m having fun playing with different methods and sizes of that to see how I can make it an expressive medium for me.
